Weha wanted to combine weight capacity with high frequency of moving bundles that generally fatigue less weight capacity granite bundle racks. The Weha Hippo HD Bundle Rack will do both of these for many years to come.
Why the Weha Hippo Bundle Slab Rack the strongest Bundle Rack on the Market
The load capacity: Each post is rated for 11,880 lbs, the set of posts for 23,760 lbs. The Hippo comes with 16 posts, giving a total slab bundle rack capacity of 190,080 pounds. Each set of posts will hold: 30 2cm slabs and 20 3cm slabs.
Fully hot dipped galvanization never allows the metal to rust and fatigue.
How can the Hippo Bundle Slab Rack hold so much weight?
The reason for this is the special base design and the thicker metal of the base and posts.
The Weha Hippo Bundle Slab Rack is made using 50% thicker steel (6mm) compared to standard slab bundle racks that use only 4mm.
The Hippo posts are also larger in diameter. 2.5″ x 2.5″ (63mm x 63mm) x 6mm thick posts. These posts are made using premium-grade European single processed steel. This allows a substantial increase in weight capacity. Each Post weighs 28 lbs each. The Hippo Bundle Slab Rack base is 7 3/4″ wide x 6″ high double 6mm C channel with 6mm double plates. Each Base weighs 268 lbs each. The base is also made using premium-grade European single processed steel.
The Weha Hippo HD Slab Bundle Rack has 23 2.5″ x 2.5″ square receivers. The receivers are spaced 5″ on center apart.
Each post comes with the standard Weha Signature Safety Angle Bracket. This angle bracket faces the stone and offers a fail-proof way to set the proper angle for the stone to ensure the safest and least amount of weight transfer to the posts.
The Weha Hippo Slab Bundle Rack is ideal for slab importers, slab distributors, and high production shops that are moving a lot of slabs in and out of their bundle racks.
The Hippo Slab Bundle Rack is perfect for storing Granite, Marble, Engineered Stone, Quartz, Quartzite, Dekton, Lapitec, and all other slab materials.

Made of galvanized steel
Why Galvanization is Better than Painted A Frames:
1. Most economical: Galvanized steel is often the least expensive initial choice. As other labour intensive coatings have risen in rates, galvanizing has maintained a consistent price-point. Moreover, it lasts longer and requires less maintenance, making it the most cost effective, long-term option.
2. Maintenance-free: Galvanizing provides maintenance-free corrosion protection, unlike other protective coatings. This mitigates long-term costs, hassles and disruptions to production.
3. Longest lifespan: Galvanized coatings on typical structural members have a life expectancy in excess of 100 years.
4. Most durable: A galvanized coating has a unique metallurgical structure, providing outstanding resistance to damage during transport, erection and service.
5. Most reliable performance: Galvanizing is carried out to ASTM A123 and standard, minimum coating thicknesses are applied. Coating life and performance are reliable and predictable as it’s performance is based on the known corrosion rate of zinc. Galvanized steel provides a thick, complete and easily inspected coating.
6. Most protection: Galvanizing protects every part of a structure, including recesses, sharp corners and inaccessible areas. Galvanized coatings also provide cathodic or sacrificial protection to small areas of steel that are exposed due to damage. Unlike other coating options, small damaged areas are automatically protected and don’t require touch-ups due to zinc’s sacrificial nature.
